Kamoliddin Behzod National Institute of Fine Art and Design The institute was established based on the Presidential Decree of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated January 23, 1997, “On the Establishment of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan,” and the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers dated March 11, 1997, No. 131. It traces its origins to the Faculty of Fine Arts, founded in 1954 under the Tashkent Institute of Theatre and Art. Today, the institute comprises 4 faculties and 15 departments: • Faculty of Fine Art: Departments of Easel Painting, Monumental Painting, Theatre Decoration, Miniature and Book Graphics, and Sculpture. • Faculty of Applied Art: Departments of Decorative and Applied Art, Artistic Ceramics and Restoration, and Technical Drawing. • Faculty of Art History and Museology: Departments of Art History and Theory, Museology, Social Sciences and Informatics, Uzbek and Foreign Languages. • Faculty of Design: Departments of Design, Applied Graphics and Art Photography, Fashion Design. A total of 2,619 students are currently enrolled in 29 undergraduate programs and 17 master's degree specialties.
